Daniels has received numerous industry awards including the prestigious High Rise Builder of the Year Award by the Tarion Home Warranty Corporation. This pinnacle award is in recognition of exceptional customer service and excellence in the new home building industry.
In addition to being the first recipient of the coveted Home Builder of the Year Award by the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ Association, other accolades have been garnered by the communities themselves. The Capital Condominiums, the initial phase of Mississauga City Centre’s first master-planned condominium community won the “Best Architectural Design” award by the GTHBA and the skyline enhancing NY Towers community at Bayview and Sheppard received the “Community of the Year” award. Daniels’ condominiums at No. 1 City Centre were also recently honoured with the “Award of Excellence” at the Mississauga Urban Design Awards.
Daniels has also partnered with renowned filmmaker Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters, Animal House) to build Festival Centre, the new home for the Toronto International Film Festival Group, in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District. Festival Tower, an elegant 41-storey residential tower will rise above Festival Centre, an international destination celebrating the world of film 52 weeks a year.
Daniels was the first major developer to build rental housing in over 20 years. Through its innovative Gateway Rental Communities program, tenants can earn a credit of up to $6,000 towards the purchase of a new Daniels home. The company also built an enviable portfolio of state-of-the-art retirement residences in a continuing joint venture with Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc.
Since its inception, the company has consistently played a leadership role in corporate responsibility, supporting a wide range of charitable organizations providing food, clothing and shelter, including an on-going role as Presenting Sponsor of Toronto Taste, Second Harvest’s annual gala fundraising event. Daniels also provides assistance to Eva’s Initiatives, who offer services and opportunities for homeless youth and Homes First Foundation, an agency providing affordable, permanent housing and transitional support services for the homeless.
